I found Coombes' book on America as the Babylon of Revelation to be the most convincing
exegesis I have read on this passage. He makes a convincing case that the United States
clearly fulfills these references. As someone who was never fully satisfied with the
beliefs that Babylon would be a rebuilt city in Iraq, or is simply the Roman Catholic
church, I was pleased to read such a well researched and well presented book on the
subject. His word studies in the original languages are excellent. Many popular prophecy
authors seem to see very little place, if any, for the United States in end time prophecy.
Coombes' depth of scholarship is a welcome addition to the subject.
Of especially intriguing interest is his biblical exegesis regarding the fallen angels and
their part in God's judgement,instead of the human armies interpretations. Anyone who is
interested in the increasing deception with UFO's and fallen angels appearing as aliens
will be intrigued, if not totally convinced, with this well thought out and researched
study.
